I like what Sagmeister said about the priorities of design. I like how he put "helps others" before don't hurt anybody. Personally, I know that I often worry that somebody out there in the world is going to think my design isn't good. However, I should be primarily concerned with the audience that I'm supposed to be designing for. It's probably going to be impossible to create something that everybody in the entire world is going to be in love with, so you have to focus on making your chosen audience happy.
